What are Birth Injuries?

Injuries to an infant during the birth process are categorised as birth trauma or birth inujry.Unacceptable obstetric treatment during a birth or poor diagnosis of a baby’s medical condition often lead to catastrophic injuries. While these injuries can be as a consequence of several causes, many are due to preeventable errors  and/or medical negligence on the part of obstetric doctors or midwives.

We have represented many clients who have suffered due to medical malpractice. Our birth injury medical negligence experience covers a range of cases. These include:

Birth Injury Solicitors

Problems not detected during pregnancy

Failure to detect serious abnormalities pre birth

Negligently handled births

Errors during ante-natal care

Injury or death due to medical instruments, anaesthetics or inadequate suturing

What can you do if your Child has suffered a Birth Injury?

Frequent birth injuries include fractured bones, brain injury and nerve damage. If there are medical complications during labour and delivery this can lead to a wide variety of problems. Induced or operative delivery are more likely to cause birth injuries than a natural birth.

If you feel your child has suffered a birth injury due to medical negligence please phone us at 01 8744 422 or fill in our online inquiry form and a client care executive will be in contact with you.

All our client care executives are non-lawyers with a considerable track record of helping people through the many difficult issues that arise during the process of a medical negligence claim. They will also organise an appointment with an experienced medical negligence solicitor.
