Many Irish people who were prescribed a drug, called Vioxx (also known as Ceoxx), which was used as a painkiller for conditions such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, have instructed Malcomson Law to pursue their cases in the US courts.

In September 2004, the drug was withdrawn by its manufacturer, Merck, when medical studies linked Vioxx to a number of serious medical conditions, including serious cardiac and stroke related events.
