Abduction

The wrongful removal of a child to another jurisdiction.

Access

The rights of a parent to visit a child.

Adopt

To take a child into one's care.

Adoption

The process by which a child is placed in the care of parents other than those to which he or she was born.

Adultery

Having a sexual relationship with a person other than one’s spouse.

Agency Work

In the employment context, workers engaged through, or by, an employment agency or bureau and supplied to a hiring employer on a temporary basis.

Alimony

An obligation to give financial support to one’s spouse, or former spouse, or dependent child.

Annuity Mortgage

A mortgage where interest and part of the loan is repaid each month.

An application to a higher court to review the decision of a lower court.

A person who appeals the decision of a court.

A vessel that carries the blood (transporting oxygen and nutrients) from the heart to tissues throughout the body.

A group of bone and joint disorders commonly marked by bone deterioration, joint inflammation, chronic pain, loss of mobility and flexibility, and other skeletal dysfunction.

A build-up of plaque in arteries.

Atypical Employees

Employees that work part-time are employed on fixed-term contracts or are employed through agencies.

Auction

Sale of property to the highest bidder, who, on succeeding at the bid is legally bound to buy the home.

Aulin

An anti-inflammatory drug that has been banned by the Irish Medicines Board due to the risks it poses to liver health

A grant made by a law court.
